Yokohama has three famous old towers. The main governmental office building of Kanagawa prefecture is called “King” with affection. The building has a 49-meter tower in the middle of the structure that resembles a crown. The building was rebuilt in 1928 after it was destroyed by fire in the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. The design was chosen in a public contest. It’s brown outside walls are covered with scratched unglazed tiles, and the emerald green roof decoration is quite refined. An index of this series is here.
