REVENGE was in my mind on that day. Why? Because...on the way to the shrine I was stopped by a policeman, who accused me of driving into the 'No-Entry' road (I didn't know!) and fined me 7,000 yen for it. He kept me at the station for an hour and by the time I arrived, it was already too dark to take good photos... But how could I go home without taking them at all when I had to pay 7,000 yen for my troubles? So, the photos may look a little dark, but you'll forgive me, won't you?
Sakaeno-Yashiro Shrine enshrines Yuki Hideyasu, the first lord of Fukui Han, and Tokugawa Ieyasu, his father, and Matsudaira Shungaku, the 16th lord of Fukui Han. It was originally built inside Fukui Castle in 1628, and the current shrine was rebuilt in 1992.
